General Description |
This is locus is interpreted as the foundation pit of wall Locus:176904:003, reaching ~15cm below the first stones upper elevation. The foundation pit was identified by investigation of in the 10x2m areal N-section. We were able to also find this foundation pit in the southern part in front of the eastern and western face of wall. The foundation pit is cut into the virgin soil. Only the TL of this locus was measured, as it was not fully excavated. The foundation pit logically lays below the construction of the rampart Locus:176904:003 that should be preserved for the final pictures. But the bottom of the foundation pit is present in the Soundings 1, 2 and 3. |
Boundaries (Contrast, Topography) | The locus cuts into virgin soil. It was possibly covered by the floor levels belonging to wall Locus:176904:003 that are lost to ploughing. In the southern direction it is finished 10-15cm more west than the walls southern extension. |
