 Description of the Locus

General Description Pebble plastered floor, some pottery embedded.

This locus represents the youngest preserved floor E of wall Locus:176904:003 in N-extensions 4 and 5. The floor is relatively well preserved in the central part (oriented in SE to NW direction) but disturbed in front of the walls eastern face. This can be explained by the higher elevation of the floor in front of the wall (see sketch attached).

Represents presumably the same floor layer as Locus:176905:032.

The eastern part of the floor is also not well preserved, but this might also be attributed to the excavation process. In the next N-extension (8) where we expect the N-continuation of this floor we will try to preserve the floors eastern part better or find a reason for the worse preservation in the east. Another possible explanation might be found in some influence of the not fully understood pit/foundation fill Locus:176904:12 / 13.

The measurement of this locus represents the well preserved part of the floor.
Boundaries (Contrast, Topography) The locus is limited to the N by the excavation edge of N-extension 5. To the E and W the locus is not well preserved (see description above). To the South the locus was cut while excavating N-extension 1.
