General Description |
he Wall is oriented in SE>NW direction and was identified on the geomagnetic imagery already. This feature is present in the whole N-S extension of SQ 176905. The walls preserved width ranges from ~1.20 to ~1.40m. The layout of stones is more clearly preserved in the wall southern excavated half. In SQ 176905 the wall is excavated in a length of ~6.5m, the wall is slightly curving in W direction. The wall consist of different sized stones, that are not the same stone material as well. No clear layout, compound or masonry is present. The stones are irregularly put, the space in between the stones is filled with the same dark-brown clayey soil, that was present in the fillings on top of the wall (see LGR:0296). The internal layout of the wall is clearly sloping upwards in W direction with a degree of ~ 15°. insert wall slope screenshot (folder QID3_Measurements) here. In SQ 176905 the foundation pit was not excavated to preserve the connected floors on W and E of the wall. Locus:176905:026 might nonetheless represent a foundation or stabilization construction in the E the wall. For general discussion of the walls build structure and its interpretation, please see LGR:0304 |
