Boundaries (Contrast, Topography) |
This locus number was first used to generally identify the dark soil in the whole B-shaped area at the western end of our SW quarter trench. After removing around 15 cm of soil, the impression of the B-shape dissolved into at least one pit filling in the north and a distinct deposit or pit filling south of it. After confirming the existence of a pit outline (Locus:182908:009), we created new find collections which originate now exclusively from the northern pit. Locus no. 008 is from now on limited to the fill inside this pit shape. The upper layer of the material within the pit is not substantially different from the looting deposit Locus:182908:007. |
