 Description of the Locus

General Description Dry soft soil, loamy consistency, poorly sorted, components: clay noduls, very rich of fine gravels (many small stones), some pottery sherds (see below), some bone fragments. Also one backed brick found, 24 cm long and 18 width.
Boundaries (Contrast, Topography) Located at the western edge of the western trench, between locus 10 and the end of the trench. It touches all sections. In the western extremity this locus was found few cm under the topsoil.
Consistency (Components, Colours) Colour: brown 5.2-7.5YR
Interpretation & Classification of the Locus Post occupation. It was disturbed by the cut of pit 9 by looters, which may explain why we have some late (possible Sasanian) sherds mixed with Iron Age pottery in it. We think that locus 11 was the same as locus 26, that is the packed material for construction preparation running under all the trench's walls. Locus 11 and 26 are both very rich in small pebbles.
