General Description |
Deposit rich in large stones. By removing the stones we realised that this locus could be together with locus 10 and both were cut by the robbers pit locus 9. Locus 8 yielded large fragments of a stone slab made of a greenish stone (sandstone or limestone?) which is identical to that used for the cist grave in Girdi Bazar (found in 2015). Moreover, locus 8 yiedled some fragments of long humn bones visible in the S section. Noteworthy is the bullet found, which indicates that the locus was disturbed in modern times. The pottery this locus yielded looks post-Iron age in date (possibly Sasanian?). After the partial removal of locus 8 we found large stone alligned in a row that form a wall locus 28. Colour 3/2.10YR very dark greyish brown |
Boundaries (Contrast, Topography) | It is located in the western trench right at the corner with the northern trench. It continues into the northern section as well as in the southern section. |

Interpretation & Classification of the Locus | Seems to have been distrubed by looters because of the bullet and mix of Neo Assyrian and Sasanian pottery. |
