General Description |
The locus consists of a stone concentration in the eastern part of the 2.5x2.5m quarter trench. The stones were lying in irregular positions. Most of them had rounded shapes. The stone sizes were very different, with the average ranging between 30x20 cm and 20x14cm. The soil in between the stones is 10YR4/2 dark grayish brown, often tending towards other reddisch or lighter grayish colour shades. In some places it is loose and easy to remove but in some other places the soil is compact and hard to dig. Especially close to the eastern trench profile there are hard chunks of clay included in the deposit, whereas the losse parts of the locus contain several thin white plant roots. In general there is a lot of pebbles. Some pottery, few bones and baked bricks are included. 03.09.2019: 75 buckets = 525 liters 04.09.2019: 35 buckets = 245 liters volume in total: 770 liters |
